Feather brain...

I was totally bitten by the dip dying trend, I know so many people who are doing it and and I'm getting increasingly green with every strand that is coloured! Typically my hair is defiantly too short for me to be able to pull it off, I would have to go up to my eyes for any kind of effect, plus now that I've gone dark I fear I'm going to have to kiss good by to the dream.

sigh....
But things are looking up as I have come too the conclusion that two variations on dip-dying may actually suit me, yaay!
Option 1 -Ombre hair

This is the trend that was big during the summer and had nearly every kind of celeb taking part. I don't think it needs much of an explanation but it is where the tips of the hair will be lighter and brighter in contrast to the roots, BUT it should never raise the question as to when you last had your roots done. So always think chic not cheap.
You can either go with the subtle, well blended tones of Whitney Port or the Jessica Biel approach of high contrast. Personally I love Whitneys as her hair looks so thick and luscious compared to Jessicas which looks thin. I think for this trend to work you have to embrace the nature of it,  as a loose, relaxed and sexy style, but be wary of not going over board by making it look forced and too constructed, which I think has happened to the celebs who's tones are too contrasting.

However I have heard that this can ruin your hair and having particularly thin hair all ready, is it just asking for trouble?

Option 2- Feather Hair Extensions

I think that they are simply gorgeous and as soon as my Canadian friend mentioned them to me I have been simply obbsessed! There is a fantastic range out there now of natural colours, which are meant to be fairly simple to install as they use a small micro ring, which is clamped to the hair. Pretty standard. Apparently they can last up to 6months depending on the care and aren't actually that expensive! You could wear them sleek and styled like the photo above or go with a shaggy primitive style similar to the Topshop fall 2010 runway show with all the woodland creature-so many options!

After searching through the internet I am doubly tempted to buy them as I am convinced that I will instantly feel like Pocahontas or a warrior princes and as an even better plus it may even make my hair look thicker.

Now all I need to decide is what colour palette to pick!

Snakeskin jeans

Today was so exciting! My topshop parcel arrived, bringing with it my brand new jeans and top. Despite the fact that I defiantly do not suit jeans I insist on wearing them all the time, owning too many pairs makes it impossible not too. They seem to give me really baggy knees which isn't a great look, does anyone know of any websites that sell jeans who don't do this?

These ones are super cool and have me right on trend as they are a grey snakeskin print. I was going to buy the beige snake skin jeans that I saw Alexa Chung wearing in the summer but I was just too chicken and I have always regretted it! I am so in love with mine though -pheeew- as they are one of my favourite colours for winter. I often think grey is understated and seen as drab but I think that it should replace black as the staple colour with its ability to go with just about everything.

I had to add the leather for warmth as summer has defiantly left my life!

These boots are also a new addition, I love a heeled boot and I defiantly own too many for the amount of times I wear them. They are lace up with buckles too and the heel is a height that I can actually handle! The best thing about them...the cost, they where only £11 from new look, as they had a tenner off and then I used my student discount- perfection! They also do a brown pair, tempted!
Trousers-topshop sale £22, Top-h&m £20(I think), Belt-vintage, Shoes-£11

Life has been pretty dull as all I am doing is both my personal statement for uni and for Camp America, it was super exciting at first but now its just incredibly frustrating how bad I am at writing. This could be an explanation as to why my bank balance is going down so drastically, not good.

p.s If anyone wants too come and take my photos for me it would be very much appreciated, saving me from the , click- dash to position- pose for ten seconds- self timer photos!

Blogger?? Hmmm maybe

So I've been thinking about starting a blog for a wee while now, and after many a night stalking other peoples blogs I have decided to bite the bullet set one up! So bear with me whilst I muddle through my thoughts to try and post something that's half decent!
My attempts before Christmas at least is to-

1.decide once and for all if I can pull off a center parting
2.attempt to grow my nails and start painting my nails more like Picasso then a 3 year old
3.try and save some money for my holiday in redding rather then spending it as soon as I get it
4.find and buy an amazing pair of boots
5.and to finally be able to wear heels without having to rest every four minutes, nights out are becoming a series problem!
